For my priliminary task, I was working in a group of 3 with Lucy, Iksha and myself. Our task was to film someone opening a door, walking into a room, sitting down and talking to someone opposite to them. To do this we used a standard video recorder, tripod and DV cassettes for equipment. As for technique we used specific camera angles, such as 180 degree rule, match on action, over the shuolder, close up and panning. To prepare us for our filming we made a story board of atleast 6 shots and then made photos of the story board, so we knew exactly what we were doing.
Overall I felt that the task went quite well considering it was my first time filming using actual shots and sticking to a criteria. The only major problem we had was when it came to filming we couldn't film where we took the storyboard photos, and so it didn't stick exactly to what we were originally going to do. Next time when I make our other project, I want to make sure the shots run smoother so it looks more professional, this can be done in editing.
